• The CIRCON circulation control unit prevents constant heat losses during the circulation of hot water.

Until now:

• A hot water circulation pump ensures that the water in the pipes is constantly circulating. The cooling water is continuously replaced by warm water, even when hot water is not currently being used.

Heating energy is constantly lost through heat transfer to the masonry and the environment.

In addition to this loss of heat energy, the electric circulation pump is in operation around the clock and the boiler requires additional heating cycles to heat the buffer storage tank more frequently.

The solution:

• CIRCON is a microcontroller-controlled ballast for the hot water circulation pump, which limits the circulation times associated with energy loss to a sensible minimum.

How it works

Switches on the circulation pump as needed:

1. In case of random request:

• i.e., after briefly opening any hot water valve in the house.

This causes a short burst of hot water to shoot from the boiler into the riser pipe, which is immediately detected by the temperature sensor. The pump is then switched on. Even though the valve has since closed again, hot water is available after a short time.

The returning water in the circulation line is monitored by another temperature sensor. If this sensor registers a temperature increase, the pump is switched off, as all taps are now adequately supplied.

2. Forward-looking circulation:

If regular, daily consumption patterns are recognized, CIRCON starts automatically in advance, eliminating waiting times. The device therefore continuously "learns" and constantly compares the predicted run times with actual dispensing times.

• If usage patterns deviate significantly on weekends, the device automatically detects this. During extended absences, such as vacations, pump cycles are completely disabled except for occasional flushing cycles (for legionella monitoring). When hot water is used again, the established usage pattern is immediately reactivated.

Using an adjustment slot on the side of the device, you can determine the compromise between maximum energy savings and optimal comfort: In the middle position, both are balanced. The further the setting is adjusted towards the red zone, the more comfort takes precedence, meaning that even less frequently observed habits are learned more quickly and remain valid for longer without needing to be refreshed.

When switching to the blue zone, the cost-saving effect predominates, meaning that only regularly recurring and more time-bound habits are learned.

Easy installation

After the temperature sensors have been attached and plugged into the device, CIRCON is inserted between the mains plug (circulation pump) and the wall socket.

• Easy attachment of the temperature sensors using the included cable ties.
• The flat and temperature-resistant cable can be laid along the pipes under the insulating sleeves.
