All types up to and including 9 kW are designed in a star connection with a common neutral conductor and can therefore be operated with PV power in conjunction with a consumption controller.

When used in hard water, measures to reduce limescale buildup, or descaling of the heating coil (initially after 3 months, then at regular intervals), must be carried out. Limescale can trigger the safety limiter, cause thermal damage, or lead to pitting corrosion of the heating coil, thus voiding the warranty!
