Askoheat heating elements are generally suitable for PV systems, but only depending on the control system installed on site.
When used in hard water, measures to reduce limescale buildup, or descaling of the heating coil (initially after 3 months, then at regular intervals), must be carried out. Limescale can trigger the safety limiter, cause thermal damage, or lead to pitting corrosion of the heating coil, thus voiding the warranty!
