How it works

• Hydraulic separators are used when a system simultaneously contains one or more heat generators with their own pump and one or more consumers with a distribution pump. In such a system, operating conditions arise in which the pumps influence each other, causing unwanted changes in flow rates and delivery heads within the circuits. The hydraulic separator provides hydraulic decoupling of the connected circuits. This makes it possible to design the connected primary and secondary circuits hydraulically independently. The flow in one circuit does not cause flow in the other circuit if the pressure loss in the hydraulic separator is negligible.

• The use of a hydraulic separator means that each circuit (both the heat generator and the consumer circuit) must be equipped with its own pump! This allows a heat generator circuit to operate with a constant flow rate and a consumer circuit with variable output: typical operating conditions for modern heating and air conditioning systems.
