Intrinsic safety / Cold protection:
• The devices are intrinsically safe, meaning that if the sensor medium is lost, e.g. due to sensor breakage, the burner is switched off.
• Since sub-zero temperatures produce the same effect by reducing the volume of the sensor medium, the devices are adjusted using the “cold screw” so that they only switch off the burner at temperatures below -15°C.
• Reactivation can only be done manually at temperatures above approximately -5 °C using the manual reset button.
Overheating protection:
• The device protects against uncontrolled overheating, caused, for example, by heat build-up or by gradual capillary loss due to invisible damage to the sensor or capillary tube, etc.
• When a temperature of 220 °C is reached, the safety solder in the sensor melts and the device, due to the loss of the filling medium, switches the burner off to the safe side.
• The burner cannot be restarted
• The device is then unusable and serves as proof of the existing overtemperature of at least 220 °C.

• Minimum or maximum thermostat for monitoring supply air and fan control in ventilation and air conditioning systems
• Overheating protection thermostat for electric heating elements and directly fired air heaters in oil and gas operation
• Caution: Install devices in a vibration-free environment to prevent malfunctions and/or sensor breakage.
