Rooftop photovoltaic systems require a disconnect device at the point where the string cables enter the building, connected to the building's power supply. This allows firefighters to carry out firefighting operations in an emergency without being unnecessarily endangered. Once the power supply is restored, the PV Next fire service switch automatically reconnects the PV strings.
