The e2 models operate on the principle of a regenerative heat exchanger. The storage element is positioned in the center of the airflow from an EC axial fan. A reversing airflow, created by a controlled change in the fan's direction, charges the PLA material with thermal energy from the room air and releases it to the incoming outside air. This process is so efficient that up to 96% of the heat energy contained in the air is recovered. The combination of e² and ego ensures 100% ventilation with heat recovery throughout the entire house and is ideally suited for KfW-certified homes.
