MTHW is a self-regulating heating cable that compensates for heat loss in hot water distribution systems. When a hot water tap is not used continuously, the water in the distribution pipes cools down, and heat is usually lost on its way from the source to the tap. MTHW does not overheat or burn out, even if the cables overlap.

• Electric trace heating systems not only guarantee frost-free operation but also a uniform operating temperature for pipes and containers. These self-regulating cables consist of two parallel metal wires encapsulated in a PTC semiconductor polymer. When an electric current flows through the semiconductor polymer to the other copper wire, a closed circuit is created. The current heats the polymer, increasing its resistance. As the temperature of this conductive core rises, the electrical resistance decreases, and consequently, so does the temperature. This process occurs at every point along the cable. This ensures energy efficiency and prevents overheating or burning due to overlapping heating cables.
